firefox, google chrome, or safari?

firefox, google chrome, or safari?
(my real questions are down at the bottom... here's just some research i did... realize that i am working with a low memory computer (2001 XP with 384 ram))

i've tried ie, firefox, opera, and google chrome. oh yeah and safari (all the latest versions). this is what i got:

- ie8 is stupid, to put it as kindly as i can. not very safe, really slow, tons of pop-ups, etc.

- firefox is better, faster, safer, etc. and i've been using it for a long time. plus it has lotsa add-ons. but i've found the add-ons take some memory, even though they are only a few KB large, making it slower. so i took off most of them, leaving a few of my favorites like WOT, a music toolbar, etc. i realize that firefox is the SAFEST browser. period. and i agree. but my computer has little memory and firefox is just too slow, including the fact that it crashes a lot. it's faster than ie but still kinda slow

- opera opens faster than firefox but is the same to slower to run i found. doesn't have much stuff. etc. better than ie but worse than firefox.

- google chrome opens as fast as opera - really fast. takes very little memory to run. has cognito windows which i like. after doing some research i saw that a lot of people said it runs as fast as firefox just opens faster. i don't see that as true, on my cpu at least - it seems faster all around. i also found through research that it's safe and blocks you from bad sites (not as safe as firefox, but reasonably so). idk if it's really as safe as people say. buutt...i hear that my favorite extension for firefox, WOT, wil be in the first 15 add-ons for chrome, as they're in the process of making add-ons. oh yeah and chrome has this thing (as opposed to firefox) that allows you to kill tabs so the whole browser doesn't crash when something goes wrong. a really annoying thing about chrome is that there is no undo close tab. very annoying. haha

i just remembered about safari so i'll put that in as well
- safari is fast. really fast. however, when i was using it i was hearing tales that it just opened for pc's and isn't really safe and stuff and it's supposed to be for mac and stuff and etc. i felt kkinda wierd about using it so i stopped (another reason being that firefox 3 had just came out and SEEMED almost as fast at first and it just felt safer (from hearing the rumors)) so i switched back to firefox. i know that a new safari 3 has come out (hear from cousin) and idk if it's better. now that i stop to think about it it's really not so much different than google chrome. more settings though. is it as safe as people say chrome is?

ok, so the top browsers (for my computer and me, at least) are firefox, google chrome, and safari. i have liked firefox but my cpu just can't handle it :'(

so, my question is should i use google chrome or safari?
at first, my question was how safe is chrome really, because i wanted to switch from firefox to it. now my question has changed to firefox vs chrome vs safari. cross out firefox b/c it uses too much memory on my computer (i'll keep firefox and just use it for really important stuff that i need firefox for)

important things and questions:

**--CHROME: how safe? i know it is pretty speedy. i know it uses little memory. i know it allows you to kill tabs so the browser doesn't crash.

**--SAFARI: how safe? i know it is fast, maybe a bit faster than chrome. how much memory does it use (a lot like firefox/a little like chrome). does it have that browser crashing problem (that firefox gets or does it just not crash or does it kill tabs like chrome)?

**--CHROME or SAFARI?

ty best answer goes to person who answers the **-- questions and shows some sense and... just answers best !! =D
i know the exact extension that you're talking about, alisha. WOT is the name. one of my favorite extensions, and that is what made it kinda hard for me to change from firefox. but i have to so...if i'm unsure of a site in chrome (or safari) i'll just go to my WOT account page and put the website in the check bar
one of my main questions in which is safer -- chrome or safari? can someone answer that, please?

I have never had firefox crash. I use linux so maybe that is it.
If you have an older machine maybe you should give it a try as it runs with less resources.
As to your question: google's chrome is really good so you should use it if it works better for you. That is what it is about: You and your preference. You are lucky to have one as this was not always the case.

As far as I can tell from reviews Safari and Chrome relatively safe but as far as I can tell Firefox is often said to be safer because of the no-script and other add-ons.
You wouldn't have to worry about safety so much if you were using Linux. You don't even have to use anti virus software. I do and have yet to find a single bug.

Chrome gets my vote.

FIREFOX! I tried Google Chrome the other day, and it wasn't as good. No crashes so far on Firefox. There is a rating on Firefox on each link found on searches that gives you a red, yellow, or green light as to the site's safety. I have seen lots of red lights too with this engine, which has kept me from going to sites with poor security.
