To get an internet connection on your Wii, you first need an access point. For this you have three options (listed in order of recommendation):

1) Wireless router: A wireless router provides your home with a wireless network, which the Wii can connect to. The Wii is compatible with most wireless routers and their security features. If you do not yet own a wireless router and would like information on what to look for, click here:

2) Wii LAN Adapter: If you have a wired access point, such as wired router or broadband modem, the Wii LAN Adapter can be used to enable an ethernet connection from your wired access point to the USB ports on the Wii console. This item can only be bought by Nintendo's online store or by calling Nintendo:

3) Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector: This USB device is simply plugged into your computer. Just plug it in, download the software, and you have your access point for your Wii. Sounds simple, right? Problem is, the item is discontinued; Nintendo doesn't make any more. The only place you're likely to find it is online:

Now once you have one of these things, all that is left is to set up the connection. Each device has a different set up, so here's the link for the set-up guides for each device:

Wireless Router:

Wii LAN Adapter:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems...d=wdRouter

Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector:

Once your Wii is connected to the internet, you can access the Wii Shop Channel, where you can download the Internet Channel free of charge.

Good luck!
