How do I get him to come out of his shell?

So, my coworker wants to set me up with her friend's son. He had found me on Facebook and added me, so I'm guessing he is interested. We are all planning on going out to this bar near me some weekend, and I'm definitely looking forward to meeting him.

Here's the deal though:
I'm an extrovert, and he's the polar opposite.
My coworker has told me that he is very shy. This doesn't bother me necessarily, but I've always known guys who were outgoing and talkative, like myself.

My question is, how do I get him to come out of his shell when we all get together ("we all" as in me, my coworker, him, and his mom)? I know to obviously introduce myself and that asking questions about him usually helps a lot, but are there any other tricks to make him feel more comfortable around me?

THis whole thing is not a good idea right from the get go.

First you want to meet at a bar. Alcohol is NEVER a good idea on a first date.
Second you are meeting with two other people which are YOUR co worker and HIS mom. HIS MOM. On a first date....think about this. Unless you are 14 years old, parents have no place on a date. Im assuming youre an adult because youre going to a bar.

You are already trying to put pressure and change the guy by already planning ways to get him to come out of his "shell" and you havent even met him yet. What if hes just not interested in you? Just because he added you on fb doesnt mean hes into you. He prolly felt pressure from his mommy to add you to fb anyway. Then you plan on asking him questions about himself in front of his MOM....

Try to be funny if ur good at that.

Humor makes everyone go crazy about u. Just try and flirt a lil. Make him get a lil friendly with you. It will go alright dont worry much.
