Is your email address book up to date? Facebook can use your email address book to help you find your friends. This is how most people start.

Also, filling out information like your work and school history will help. For example, if you fill in what high school you went to and what year you graduated (or would have graduated), that will help you find friends from high school.

Go to your facebook friends' profiles and look at their list of friends. You probably know some of the same people.

Search for your friends by name in the search blank at the top of the facebook page.

Some of the clubs/groups you are in (or were in) may have facebook pages. Look for your church. Sports teams you've been in. Volunteer organizations. Etc.

If you are married or have changed your name, put your old name as your middle name to help people recognize you. And make sure your profile picture really looks like you and shows your face clearly.

And click like on some local businesses from your home town.
