Question about twitter?

If Someone IS NOT following me of twitter and I AM following them on twitter.
Can I still send them a message, if i do @........, will it show up on there twitter page.??
Or do they have to follow me for it to show up on there page.

If I can send them a message without them following me how can I send them a message?

you can still send an @reply but they will only see it if they will click on the right side of the homepage where you can see the @username

they will need to follow you for them to see your replies directly on our page
you CANNOT Direct message them if they are not follwing you
