How do I switch my computer between networks?
I am ignorant when it comes to technology.

I am connected to a 'public network' symbolized by a park bench. Previously, I have been connected to a home network symbolized by a little house. When I go to my internet connection, I see no obvious way to switch. This happened after I sent my computer to my 'computer guy' for work.

After you're done rolling your eyes and/or laughing at my ignorance, I hope you'll tell me how I might switch back. Or what the difference is. Ideally, both - though the first seems more important.

Thanks.

Ok, that was pretty funny! Let's see if I can help you get to the right setting:

- Go to: Control Panel --> Network & Sharing
- Next to the "Park Bench" should be the words "Public Network" --> click on those words.
- In the window that pops up, click on Home Network, check off any of those items you wish to share, then click Next. Then click "OK" or "Close" to close the window.

You should be back to your normal 'house' now.
