Which is better Apple Iphone 5 or Android Samsung Galaxy S3?
These two are the best selling phones in the marketplace. So, I just wanted to know which one is better, so I know that which one I could buy. Please, no stupid answers. Serious answers only.

Galaxy s3 has a lot of features like motions, adding widgets, smart stay , and screen capture etc.... With iphone 5 you dont get that many features. But its simple and easier to learn. S3 is more advanced than iphone 5. So if u never used android than it might take some time to learn. S3 is more superior than the iphone 5 but I cant really say which its better. If u want feautres, freedom, and bigger screen then the s3. If you want simple and balanced phone then the iphone 5.

Call it a stupid answer if you want, but here you go:

The Galaxy S III is a much better phone than the iPhone. For starters, you aren't pigeonholed into the asinine Lightning connector. The micro-USB charger on the Galaxy S III is the same type of charger used on EVERY modern smartphone not made by Apple. It means if your friend has something than an iPhone, your chargers are compatible with each other's phones. It might sound a little trivial, but if all of your friends have Android devices and you have an iPhone, you pretty much have to keep your charger on you because you'll never be able to borrow one from someone else.

Also, iOS is much more rigid. You cannot do things like root the device or download skins or anything of the sort. You can change the wallpaper and move icons, and that's basically it. If you like to have flexibility and/or be somewhat unique, you're out of luck on that.

Then you get to the legitimate internals. First off, the iPhone's display is a joke. People tout that whole "Retina Display" garbage, but when it comes to modern flagship devices, it's just a pitiful excuse to have a non-HD display on the device. HD starts at 1280x720 pixels (720p), which is what is on the Galaxy S III, along with most other flagship devices. The iPhone manages just an 1136x640 resolution. That means that the iPhone 5 has 194,560 (or 21%) fewer pixels than the Galaxy S III. Then the iPhone 5 lacks NFC. It's not a major technology, but it's a technology Android has had since 2010, and even Windows Phone has it. When you're buying into a device for 2 years, it's not a good thing that it doesn't have technology that's 2 years old already. Oh, and the iPhone gives you 16 GB of storage and no microSD option. The Galaxy S III comes with 16 GB of storage as well, but you also get the microSD option for more storage (if you like lots of music).

Oh, and that 4" display is rather sad in this day and age. You can get low-end and mid-range phones with 4.3" displays, and the 4.8" screen of the Galaxy S III makes for MUCH better readability.

All of that said, let me get to where you might think "stupid answer," but stay with me. If you're on AT&T, you really should look at the Lumia 920. You get a 1280x768, 4.5" screen (more pixels than the Galaxy S III, and it's BY FAR the fastest display in terms of refresh rate ever made). The phone does not have a microSD slot, but you get 32 GB of storage, rather than the 16 GB on the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S III. Personally, I have a few episodes of Doctor Who and almost 2,000 songs on my phone, plus a lot of games. I'm at about 21 GB used. The Lumia 920 comes in 5 colors (black, white, red, yellow, and cyan; the last two are online-only), which means more uniqueness. While it's a thick device, it's VERY durable. It survived tests by being hit with a mallet, cut at with keys and a knife, and even being thrown at a light pole.

The phone really is a superb device (I have one in black myself), and it's ONLY $100 (simply because Nokia's making them cheaper to sell more of them). That's half the price of the Galaxy S III or the iPhone 5, and you get a free $50 wireless charger on top of that (unlike the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S III, the Lumia 920 comes with built-in wireless charging, which is a nice convenience). The Windows Phone 8 OS is different, but it's honestly a very nice experience once you're used to it (took me about 2-3 days).

You might go to the "it has fewer apps," but really, the only app that might matter that is missing is Instagram. If you live on Instagram, it's a problem, but it should come in a few months. They're missing Dropbox, but SkyDrive works well (and offers more free storage). You also don't have Pandora, but it is coming in 2013 with a full year of ad-free streaming, and the Lumia-exclusive Nokia Music is better anyway (it's free, has no ads, and you can download 4 playlists for offline use, so it doesn't use data).

Again, if you're on AT&T, at least go and check the device out. It's VERY nice.
