"Hip" and "cool" grandma?
I think my grandma is just trying to be cool, so she says stuff like OMG and hashtag and uses slang on FB.

She was driving me to school one morning and it started to flurry. She said, "Hashtag! snowflakes!" It took everything in me not to burst out laughing.

Does anyone else have a grandma or grandpa that acts like this? Share funny stories Tongue Why do you think some grandparents do this? She retired a year ago, and plays Candy Crush etc. so maybe she's just spending too much time on the computer.

10 EASY POINTS! Smile
I definitely enjoy it! haha just wondering if anyone else's grandparents do this Smile

i think you should tell her that if she wants to be hip and cool she has to go through initiation, and then tell her its something funny, like tell her she has to smoke a joint with you or something and see if she alright with it.....i think itd be funny. my grandma spends wwaaayyyyy too much time on the computer bbut she doesnt do those things

We grandparents take great delight in trying to amuse and maybe embarrass the grandkids. I'd say you were EXPECTED to laugh at the snowflakes comment.

I say just enjoy it and tease her about it. She's just making a well-intentioned effort to be a little more relevant to your generation. At least she isn't going on about 'when I was your age....."
