My mother said by the time you're 30 years old you should have it together. Thoughts?

I said the same thing to my youngest son,he has a slight problem though,he thinks that manuel labour is a spanish politician,and he believes that I am a cash hole in the wall vending machine,rather than his father,things are looking up a bit now he actually has got a job and starts on monday 10/03/2014 and he is now coming up for his 32 birthday I am praying that I never hear again the words from him can you lend me some money?ok.

It's true that it's easier (socially) to go to school and professions with your own age-group.
Is the deadline for your own peace of mind or some vague fear of harm or hatred from others?
Whose opinion are you courting? The casual onlooker, strangers or acquaintances or friends, or family?

I think that "the heart has its reasons" and that the family should stay together and live together and fight society together.
It's hard to be successful in all ways and there are so many possible sources of dissatisfaction.
I think "having it together" (for yourself) and "looking good" (for others) aren't the same thing.
Your society molds you, has molded you for 30 years!
How can you have successfully completed 30 years of society's education and upbringing and then be blamed for being a failure?

Also, consider that there are also many parts you have to satisfy in order to "be ALL you can be":
Licensure = access to portable property, skills, resources, activity for your mind and body (healthy mind in a healthy body) and a full life.
Joining the army, becoming a banker or doctor or other lucrative industy = being close to a "fire hydrant" of money.
5,000 friends on Facebook = social success network.
Having $1,000 in the bank per number of months = prudence, good judgment, having it all economically.
Going to India or Paris = life is short, enjoy life, what is money for anyway?
Living with family = FTW.
