Creating "Word Art" on Photoshop?
Hey everyone,
I used to be decent at Photoshop several years ago. I'm working as a social media manager for a small business and have elected to also do graphics. I've re-learned a lot of things on this new version (the latest.. Elements 12), but I'm soo rusty!!

I used to be able to download fonts and then create Word Art-like effects on them. I'd download them from dafont.com, but then I could use the font as an outline only, add a fill, gradient, etc. Whatever I wanted.

Does anyone know how to do this in 12? Seems like it should be obvious.

In the Layer menu > Layer Style you'll find styles like Bevel & Emboss, Gradient Overlay, Drop Shadow etc.. You can activate more styles if you go to the Window menu and select Styles. This opens the Styles panel in the Panels bar on the right. There's a tiny button on the top right of the Styles panel that opens a menu where you can find more groups of styles. Each style can be applied to the (selected) text layer with a click.
