Steam Won't Download Stick of Truth?

I've waited, like, two years for this game, plus another week ordering the PC version of South Park: The Stick of Truth.

I install the disk, get steam up and running, and it will not download. The download speed won't go over 17.5 kb/s, and it ALWAYS times out. If I install from the disk, it will stick at 94%. if I don't, it's 3%.

It constantly tells me 'update required' but no matter if i update steam, or anything, NOTHING WORKS. im getting so frustrated, I can't believe of all times, this has to happen now.

I have:

'refreshed' my download
uninstalled both the game and steam, and reinstalled
Changed the server source (multiple, multiple times)


someone PLEASE help. I'm so upset, I just want to play the game. Thanks.

how is your memory? That is the only thing I could think of if it doesn't want to finish downloading or install with the disk. have you tried to turn off your internet connection and install the game with the disk and just be in "offline" mode? maybe that way it wont come up with any updating requirements. I'm not the best with that kind of problems, but stuff like that seems to happen to me all the time, and sometimes disconnecting from the internet helps :/ hope it gets working for you! oh yeah test your internet DL speeds to make sure your intent company isn't ripping you off by not giving you the full download speeds you pay
