what does this security alert mean ?
on my laptop computer i have a security alert appering every time i open my computer , it says the idendity of this web site or intergrity of this connection cannot be verified .

the security certificate has expired or is not yet valid .

it also ask me if i want to continue and proceed to view the certificate , so is this a hacker or is it the connection ,? i recently move to a new place and i share the internet connection with the landlord .so would this be the reason i get this security alert on my laptop ?

It simply means that the site that you visited does not have a valid certificate from a Certificate Authority. Large companies with reliable content will almost always have valid certificates.

This is a red flag to warn you that this site may or may not offer legitimate (virus free) content, and that the site may or may not be the site that you think it is.

Use caution before you proceed to the site. If you know you can trust it... go for it.
If you are not sure, find out before you click the "OK" link.

I don't know what Browser you're using. Try a different one especially if you are using Internet Explorer. Try Firefox or Google Chrome.
