What do you do when you know someone has anorexia?
So a while back I was on instagram and I was just following all my friends from Facebook on instagram and I saw one of my friends made one of those instagram pages for "thinspo" and "ana" and things like that. At first I didn't know who it was and wanted to find out so followed them, a few days later I saw a picture on my friend on her actual page and underneath it saw the exactly same picture on the anorexia page. Since then I've seen about four more of the same pictures on each page.
I see her around in school and I know she's skinny but I wouldn't call her too skinny. I don't know what to do because I don't really know her, like we don't talk, she's not in my class and we don't have anything in common. I'm pretty sure she knows I know so I don't wast to say anything to a teacher first. HELP!!! What should I doooo!!! Ads |

Only if she brings it up, suggest an eating disorder clinic.

Well one thing you should NEVER do is pressure them. A person struggling with an eating disorder will get so mad at you if you did that. I struggled with bulimia and so I understand, we are super sensitive with food. We, a lot of times, get really irritated at people who pressure food or talk about food around us.
But since she isn't technically anorexic you should tell her. Let her know what she is getting herself into. Being pro-ana is completely different because she is forcing herself to become sick. A person who is really anorexic a lot of times cannot control it and needs a lot of help to recover from that illness. |
