How do i get rid of this search engine?

i followed the bottom instructions on this link http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/ans...swer=95653 and i want to delete a search engine but the little x doesnt come up next to it when i hover over it. Also if i delete the link and press ok it doesnt go away it comes back. How do i fix this?

Go to your control panel, then to "add/remove programs".

After the page populates, select the search engine and "Remove" will come up. Click on that and follow the instructions.
