what is Blog on Internet?

Though I used it, I haven't seen my post on Google search. And also there was no page views.
I need to know about blog and its uses in internet on simple words.

Another question is can I use it for freelance writing or for poem writing?

I doesn't have friends on Gmail account, so how to publish it.

blogs are user defined sites. you can make a blog on any topic. some sites provide making free blog namely GOOGLE BLOGGER, TUMBLR, WORDPRESS.
NOTE: creating a blog is easy but maintaing it is very hard. you need to always post on your blog.

Eventually you will get page views for people who are navigating from blog to blog or google results (usually google indexes blogs. But new blogs will have low page rank so will not be positioned at 1st or 2nd pages, search about SEO tricks to improve your page rank )
