Do you guys think that my tutour like me?

I am in university and my one tutor has always made direct eye contact with me in the tutorials. Eventually he followed me on twitter and we flirted through the DM's. He then asked for my whatsapp number and now we speak, flirt a bit but not as much. He is overseas for a holiday but he has still been speaking to me. 2 of my guy friends says that guys who are in a diff country to u don't just speak to u whilst there. So what does this mean? Must I tell him I like him? Does he like me? Must I continue flirting? I just don't wana make things awkward.
