Does clicking a backlink help with SEO?
We all know that having backlinks to a website helps with SEO but does the actual clicking of a backlink by a human (i,e not a robot) help add weight to that particular link as people are interested?

Also, what about when someone finds you on Google and clicks that link, does that tell them to add some weight to that search engine result?

In general Google does not directly monitor traffic through links, except from their own search listings, where bounces back to the search engines shortly after clicking a result are noted.

As I understand Google does employ some 3rd party services to measure the traffic to a site. I really don't know if the reporting gets down to the individual paths to the site.

After a site makes major revisions, perhaps in response to being de-indeded, it can take a couple of months for fresh traffic information from these 3rd parties to be accumulated before a stable ranking position is determined.

Since Search Engines keep their algorithm in secret, all this answer could be merely assumption. Not all the back-links are given the same authority level. That is where Google's Page Ranking (PR) grasp attention. If your back-link come from related niche and with high rated PR website that will give you a strong weighted back-link.

I am not sure if links clicked at Search Engine Result Pages (SERP) would be given better aggregate but when those people stay longer at the link clicked at SERP is given more weight. It's measure by term "bounce rate", the website with lower bounce rate will get better rating.

Hi,
Continuously clicking on the backlinks would not give you any positive effect while it will be negative for your SEO. why? I am not experts in most major search engines but here I am talking about Google in which we have experience. Google always watch your CTR into search results and then watch the bounce rate and visiting length which effects to your SEO. If you call to your friends and tell them that click on search result and visit my site then he will click and will be entered in your site and then close your site, bounce rate 100%. Or may be click another page of your site but what about the visit length, negative SEO ( why your friends will stay on your site when they don't need any information and may be open second page into new tab then three or ten friends can't help you because these data is not enough for better your SEO.

Best Regards!

A click is a click, whether is from a human or a robot.

If someone finds you on Google and clicks that link, yes it means your site is relevant to the keyword phrase and it will help a little.
