why is htc desire 300 not compatible to download instagram??

i recently bought a phone htc desire 300, and it is a an andriod 4.1.2 and i had already dowloaded apps like whatsapp, snapchat etc. but i tried to download instagram on google play, but it won't let me as it says my device is not compactible to download it. but in the descriptions, it says that you need an andriod version of 2. something and up to download this but mine is way up......why?????
my android version is updated to the latest. my android is a 4.1.2 whereas u need 2.2 and above the download instagram...wtf???

Some apps just aren't compatible with some phones. Try updating yourandroid version and HTC sense
