How to permanently remove a Google extension?
Just about 10 minutes ago, I was casually surfing the web when chrome just magically closed itself.
I opened it again and there was a new search engine instead of Google. I use adblock but it doesn't work on the new search engine.
Idk, these things really piss me off, they give me anxiety, I seriously don't want that shit on my computer. I tried disabling and deleting the extension but it's back whenever I reopen chrome.
I want to know if there's a permanent way of removing it. I could uninstall & re-install Chrome but how do I know it's not gonna randomly pop up again?
Please help.

Hi,

Try the following:

1. on chrome go to settings (top right)
2. Go down to 'on start up'
3. select Open a specific page or set of pages.
4. click 'Set pages'
5. type in the web address of the homepage you would like to set.

To remove the extension go to 'extensions' then press the trash can next to the extension you want deleting.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks

Go to settings, and go to the On Startup thing.
choose Open a specific page and click set pages
Set your wanted homepage.
Restart Chrome.
If that doesn't work, I would reinstall Chrome.

Uninstall an extension to remove it completely from the browser:

Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
Click Tools.
Select Extensions.
Click the trash can icon Remove an extension from Chrome by the extension you'd like to completely remove.
A confirmation dialog appears, click Remove.
You can also temporarily turn off an extension by disabling it on the Extensions page.
