seo question: keyword cpc $10 but no ads when you search on google?
hi guys,
i have an seo question regarding commercial intent. How valuable is a keyword?I found a keyword that has to do with cars and has a CPC of around 10$. But when you search for the keyword in google you don't see any advertisements. Should i still go for this keyword and monetize it with adsense or is this a NO-GO. please explain why then the cpc is so high if there are no advertisers?
thanks

it is possible you are not seeing any ads because ads might be targeted. Adwords target ads based on location. So its possible advertisers are not targeted your region for ads, therefore you don't see the ads when you search Google.

In general, I would NOT bid $10 per click if you're looking to advertise with ad sense. The economics are not in your favor. If you had a better way to monetize the click, it could be worthwhile.
You may not be in a segment (device, geography, etc...) that is receiving the ads but that does not mean that they are not running to anyone. I'm not sure to what extent that content network bids affect search bids.

Cars and real estate are very competitive keywords. You really need to know your cost and profit margins if you're going to be bidding on such keywords.

My recommendation is that you focus on SEO instead of SEM, because the topic is too competitive to make it cost effective.
