How do I hide my online status on facebook?

I've turned chat off on my laptop and mobile, changed my pass code & email, removed all active devices, I don't have messenger or any apps associated with my account, and I've removed the Facebook app and reinstalled it. After all of this, it still says I'm online and I can't hide. The problem started about a week ago and I'm puzzled as to what to do. Please help!

Note: I have a newer model phone galaxy s4.

Open your facebook account and go to settings, Click on Privacy and select setting as per your choice...

I had same problem before. I fix that by using online status only for one friend. After that I was offline to all others. I think there is some bug with mobile device, or smething, but in this way you can fix that. So make your profile be online for chat only to one contact and to all others you will be offline
