I have a problem with my internet, could someone help me out?

I can connect to my router with all my devices and have internet, however, when I go upstairs with my laptop and have like 2-1 stripes in the internet indicator on windows 8. It sais internet is inaccessible, however, I'm still connected to the router.
How is this fixed?

if you can connect to the router, you should be able to surf. The internet piggyback on the wifi signal and two bar is not that bad.

now you can try couple of things.

1. get a wifi extender or
2. get a new router that has a longer range, 802.11n or even the newer one, that has a longer range.
3. you can also play around with the different encryption settings or the channel and see if that will give you a longer range.
4. did yo try another browser? chrome or firefox?
5. and lastly, see if there are firmware update to the router and software/firmware driver for your laptop
