How to get my blog to show in google?

I have set up a website and blog using wordpress for both. The website is installed in the root file, but the blog is installed in a blog folder. I have done seo for both blog and site. I have analytics set up for both with works fine. However when searching in google my website shows, but my blog is nowhere to be seen. My website domain is http://www.xxxxx.co.uk/blog.

I cannot seem to find the blog at all unless typing the link or clicking on the link on my main site.
Is there a check I can do to see if the site is ranking? Or is there something I have to do get the domain ranked.

Hi,
It would usually take some time before your blog gets listed on Google's search results. Your blog has to be crawled by Google's spiders and indexed before it shows up. However, if it still does not show up after some time, you can try one method. You can associate your blog with a sub-domain linked to your main website, i.e you can make your blog as blog.xxxxxxxxx.co.uk and make it point to http://www.xxxxxx.co.uk/blog. After doing that, check back on Google after a day or two and your blog would have been listed!

When did you install your blog? If was recent you have to wait a couple of weeks for Google to index the Blog and then it will appear. If you have done recent seo for search engine placements for your blog then you will have to have patience. Are you searching by keyword? That you are trying to rank for? Again, this requires patience as Google indexing does take some time. One suggestion I would make is to submit your site to Google Webmaster Tools, and the indexing process is faster. If you are looking via keyword then you may have to build more links, and carefully watch the progress of your site. Once you submit your site to GWT or Google Webmaster tools you can check to see where the position is for your keywords, however, GWT is conservative so if it says you are ranking at 24 the your actual rank will be a little higher, further more GWT is three days behind. You can use Rank Check from seobook which is easily installed on firefox, and again, these tools are not 100 percent accurate. Good Luck.

Does the blog show in Google search when you run this command:

site:domainname.com/blog

If it does, then Google found it.

Have you signed up with Google webmaster tools? If so, make sure you can fetch your blog as googlebot: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/googlebot-fetch

And make sure, on your blog's privacy settings, that you allow search engines to spider your site. If not, they won't. /wp-admin/options-privacy.php

yes what you need is to visit http://www.google.com/addurl and ur blog url and put the keyword of ur blog. visit http:www.awwaltechnology.blogspot.com for tips and tricks about blogging and seo(search engine optimization)
