WiFi trouble?
My hp laptop is running windows 8 and a few days ago, after an automatic update my internet doesn't work. It shows that I am connected to the network, and I can get the net to work for a few minutes after a computer restart before it suddenly stops again. All other devices connected to the wifi work just fine. I uninstalled the windows updates that it just unstalled, updated my network driver, tried power cycling my router, running the trouble shooter on the computer, forgetting and manually inputting the wifi network info and nothing works. The entire time my computer insists that it's connected to the network with a working internet connection. I'm out of ideas. Any would be appreciated.

I would disconnect it from the network, and reboot. If things come up and working, it MIGHT be the network driver. If you can connect with a wire without your router for a test, and it works, your router may have some issues.

You could go back to a restore point 'back when' it was working OK.

Make sure and run some malware checking in addition to virus software and do 'deep' and 'full' scans on your machine. You might find something 'unexpected'.

A program similar to CCleaner might help.

Best of luck.
