Instagram?! How to make profile private?

Go to your profile
Click "Edit your profile"
Scroll down to "Private Information"
There should be a button that says "Posts are Private" make sure it's on.

On the new YA (purple) this is all you can do. Go below.

Under Sharing and Network. Choose.
Share my QnA with
"Everyone", "whom I follow and followers, or "whom I follow only"
next line:
Share my Answers network with:Everyone", "whom I follow and followers, or "whom I follow only"

A Contact is someone you follow.
Fan is someone who follows you.
