how much ram is sufficient for a tablet?
I'm looking to buy a tablet next week (Android) Apple can do one as far as I'm concerned.
I will be using it mainly for internet browsing, netflix, ms office, FB/Twitter and taking notes in uni lectures. Basically light to medium use. How much ram would you recommend, does Android OS require more RAM than other OS? Also is a quadcore processor necessary for my needs Thanks in advance. Ads |

The best way to go with an Android Tablet is first set a budget. Find what you are comfortable paying.
Secondly, do you want a 7" or a 10" tablet? Thirdly, do you prefer a manufacturer or accessory? Samsung Note tablets are expensive but are good for writing notes in class. I would turn you first and foremost to the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 as they are the offering that provide the best bang for the buck. Look at Samsung's 10" and 7" tablets as they are always highly preferred. There are also the Amazon Kindle Fire tablets that are a departure from Android regular and a bit more tuned to taking in Amazon content (books, movies, music, etc.) All three categories here are good. Do not worry with RAM as 2GB is the standard and more than enough. Even the newest and greatest Samsung S5 only has 2 GB of RAM. Quad Core processors are also standard but any tablet should be able to be able do what you listed. I have a 2012 Nexus 7 that still performs perfectly. |
