What Happened To My Twitter Account?

I was looking at my timeline and noticed that one of my followers posted an ad or a Twitter Application that would allow you to review how many hours you have spent on Twitter, so I clicked on it, and of course like all other apps you have to give it access to your account; right after I did I went back to the timeline and nothing was loding, so I loged out. After I tried to log back in it does, but it claims that my account has been suspended, and I cant DM anyone or tweet, the only thing I can do is change SOME of my profile information. All of my followers and the people I am following cannot view my account and they claim that when they go on it says, this account is private. What Happened to it? I already e-mailed Twitter, but I doubt they can do anything. Was I Hacked?
