Recommend me a cable modem?
I'm not looking for something too pricy or anything Budget would be between $30-$100. From what I can see the prices of modems seem to vary greatly, is there any reason as to why this is? What's the difference between a high end modem, a mid-tier modem and a low-tier one?

Your ISP should have a list of modems that are compatible with their service, so you should check with them before making a purchase of a modem that may not work. That will also narrow down your choices considerably.

There are few reasons why modems might differ greatly in price.
- Availability of a gigabit Ethernet port.
- Support for IPv6
- Manufacturer (brand name)

You might also be looking at modems that include a built in router, wifi and VoIP. Those feature will increase the price of the device.

Most ISPs use the DOCSIS 3.0 standard, so you need to avoid the few DOCSIS 2.0 modems that are still available.
