Is there anyway to increase internet connection in a dorm room on my xbox one?

I've been having problems connecting to online games and I can almost never connect with my friends to play games.

You internet connection is slow, probably shared between many. Only thing I can think of is to get a separate connection for your room. Verizon has 4G LTE wireless routers these days you can buy and pay for per month to get your own internet connection. Dorms will probably not allow you to order your own cable of telephone line to get your own internet. Try creating a hotspot from your smart phone if it's fast enough.
