Wireless Router Laptop Internet Connection Problem...?
Wireless Router Laptop Internet Connection Problem...?
Hello. :-)

Today I got myself, a Netgear Wireless Router WGR614 54Mbps for having my desktop and couple of laptops connected through a single Cable internet connection which was through my desktop.

Now, I got all the components connected, settings done and everything. My desktop works absolutely fine with the router. So does, one of my laptops which is Windows XP based.
But, somehow, I don't understand why my second laptop fails to run over the internet. Even that one gets connected to my router, infact, it shows the message "Excellent Connectivity 54Mbps", but, when I open my browser, I get the message, "The page cannot be displayed"
I tried to search for any solutions to this problem over the internet, but, I couldn't find a proper answer to this.
So, I hope, Yahoo! users can indeed find Answers for me here and help me solve my problem!!

Thanks for reading and trying to understand my problem. The solution may be simple, but, right now, the problem has made my life complex!! Tongue

Thanks in advance!!

Hmmm....well I have the same router and the situation is almost similar to the one I have.
Well, when I got myself the wireless connection, I too couldn't get my Vista enabled laptop to get connected to the internet. So, I tried various combinations, checked the config settings again and again, but couldn't really solve the problem.
Finally, I thought that may be my anti-virus could be conflicting with the internet connection, hence I disabled my preloaded Symantec Antivirus.

Then, I tried connecting and Eureka!!! I could surf through the net without any problems! So, for me, the solution was disabling the antivirus that time!
If nothing's working for you, then you may very well try this.
I think, that this could well be the real cause...

Hope I could help!!
