Without doubt, Google Chrome
Google chrome separates its processes into different groups while safari uses one. If you are asking better as in speed/performance, go with Google chrome because it is a lighter load on the RAM.In my opinion, chrome also looks better. Ads |

Well on PC Chrome is a hell of a lot better than Safari but maybe things are different with a mac OS. In my opinion they're quite similar but on windows 7 chrome just looks nicer and runs better. I have the quick start page as my default page which is really useful too.

I've never heard of Safari, I use firefox at home because it uses WAY less download than Explorer.
If either of these is better than firefox for speed and limiting unnecessary download, I'm game. |

I've used both browsers on both OS X and Windows 7. Chrome is better on both platforms. Safari has become a beachball-happy, laggy mess in OS X. Chrome runs just fine. Safari actually runs better in Windows, but Chrome still beats it overall.
As someone said before, Chrome makes every tab/window its own process, which means if a page locks up, it doesn't tank your whole browser. Very nice feature. |
