I found my father on Facebook but he won't answer any of my messages.?
My father divorced my mother in 2000 but they were broken up before then. And he only paid me a visit twice in my life. Once when I was 5 or 6 and then when I was 8 years old.

It was devastating but he would call occasionally, however he stopped calling me on my 18th Birthday. I didn't get a Bday Card, call or anything... I thought that maybe he forgot my phone number or something(I'm dumb, I know!!)
I even tried to send him a birthday card with pictures of me and my younger siblings to his address only for it to RTS!
I have been searching for him for so many years! And I finally found him on Facebook. And I know it's him because he has a picture of himself and my younger siblings from his new marriage. I was so happy that I found him, I wrote him and waited an entire month for him to reply! No Response! I recently just checked again and he changed his avatar so I know that he saw my message! And as a sign of good faith I paid $1 to Facebook so that my message would go directly to his inbox, not the "Other" folder thing. Still nothing! I want to cry right now!!
It's not like I asked to be here, all I ever wanted was to have a complete family and now I find my Dad, he doesn't even want to talk to me. Should I just let it be?

Honey, you HAVE to let it be, he gives you no choice, he has made his feelings clear and you need to acknowledge that. My father did the exact same thing, I sent him photos and drawings and the one time I did reach him by phone he was so abrupt and dismissive I never tried again. It's hard, it awful, it's hurtful, but that is part of life sometimes. You have a life and other family members and friends and you will have many more. I feel for you. What helped me was a personal journal which I wrote in constantly about my feelings my thoughts my emotions and my memories. It helped a LOT.

message him again, vent out, tell him how you feel..you just need to let your thoughts out, make him feel like shit. and move on, he will realize it sooner or later that he fu*ked up. be strong, be happy. good luck
