removing details from the internet?

i have just googled my own name and am really quite freaked out about how much stuff came up. there are even photographs there. half of the social media accounts that i signed upto years ago and dont even know the log in details for. Can anyone advise me how to remove my footprint as im due to start a new job which is going to involve giving out my full name and im nervous about the information that is freely available to anyone with a computer.

You sounds like you're new to the internet. Here's how it works--anything you upload that's publicly available can be searched and copied by anyone. So if you upload one photo, it could be downloaded and uploaded and copied to hundreds of other websites. In essence, you're fighting a lost cause. Unless it's something like child porn or something illegal, you're probably not going to get any of that information removed.
