Guild Wars Internet Connection Requirements?
I'm currently considering buying guild wars.

My internet connection is the best there is on the market-in rural mississippi anyway..

I can play such games as Runescape with ease, I could previously play starcraft, but now, for some reason, it reports everyone's latency as being too high..not to sure of the cause...

My internet speed is reported to be 80kbps, but i believe it's more like 50kbps.

Do you guys think i will be able to play effectively on guild wars?
Thanks, great answer, i'll soon check to see if i should switch zones..i live in mississippi, i have it set east, i'll try south...both shouldn't work horribly Tongue...

Question closed! (I can't figure out how to close it myself)

If you really have tht internet connection and really can play runescape with ease, than you can defintaely play starcraft, and guildwars.

My hypothosis is that you are having trouble connecting to the starcraft battlenet server. you could possibly be trying to log into a server that is not really your area by mistake.

starcraft was released in the 90's before all the DSL and CABLE connections were trully popular as today.

I thinnk you are seeing how low detail and low demnding starcraft is, that your thinking, "well if i cant load this easy game, there is no waaayyy ill load guild wars."

But the latency simply means that you are too far for the imformation to pass efficiantly and smoothly, such as you are accidently playing woth chineese kids lol.

so yes guildwars will work most definately.

although it will load realitively easy, for all online games make sure you have atleast 256MB of ram preferably 512MB-1024MB of RAM.

happy OWNAGE
