if you send a message to someone, they usually know that you did. that's kind of the point. you send them a message, they are alerted they have a message, they then read the message.

If your question is can end kik client determine your location via kik, then the answers are yes and no.
If you open a link then definitely yes, location can be determined.
All computers from you to and including the kik servers know your location(ip).
Law enforcement and others have the ability to determine your location.
