Be interesting, transparent and provocative. Share intimate news about your life. If you can spin a good story, you might get readers addicted to the daily dramas of your everyday life.

Post multimedia. Switching things up with pictures, videos, and even sound clips here and there can make your posts more fun to follow.

Here are a few ideas (I'm just over 900 followers):
-Make a fan account because usually people are more interested in these than someone's personal, boring account. Ofcourse you can post what YOU are doing but mine is tweam_louist which is a fan account for Louis Tomlinson from One Direction. Trust me this will get you a lot more followers than a normal account.
-Find someone who has lots of followers and go onto this list, follow about 100 people (however much time is on your hands) and then ask for a follow back from them. Be polite though, smiley faces and please's help ^.^
-Ask somebody for a 'shoutout' which is basically where someone goes for example 'SHOUTOUT to @<username> they are so cool' or something like that and then hopefully people will read this tweet and follow you
-Search for something like 'teamfollowback' and follow everyone who says they will follow you back. Most of them do! Or like Number Two I gave you, go onto somebody's account who has a lot of followers, and follow everybody who says that they follow back!

Here is a handy website that I sometimes use to see who follows me back, it is handy to see who is reliable, and friendly. If you follow someone but they don't follow you back, and you have asked, you could just unfollow them- easy!

^^^ that is the link ^^^

If you want a shoutout anytime, just tweet me tweam_louist and I will!

I know that it takes a long time, but if you really want followers, it is so worth it!
Hope I have helped!! Smile

You mean those sites where they ask you to follow back or pay a certain amount? Twitter is more than just a number's game and unless you're super popular like the stars, you'll have to do it the tough way: talk and engage with your tweeps, for real.

It really depends on how serious you are about building up a twitter following. For some people, having an interesting personality and attractive profile is enough to attract a following. At last count I had 17,500 followers, and I achieved this by using software to automate the following and unfollowing process. For me, twitter is an essential medium for bringing new customers to my website and I would not be able to achieve the amount of success that I've had if I were using manual methods. If you are serious about building a following and are doing so for business reasons then you need to automate the process. However, if you're just doing it for fun then concentrate on making your twitter profile look attractive and interact with like-minded people. It will take you a while to build a following this way, but you can still have good results
