How do you disable downloading the same files on google chrome?
If there is a PDF on a website that I download and I exit the pdf and want to open it again without going to the downloads, why does google chrome download the file again if I click on the same link I downloaded it from like google chrome doe not know it is the exact same file. Shouldn't chrome open the file again instead of downloading it twice? What is the point in downloading the same exact file twice if Chrome could just detect the multiple file and open it.

It depends on the website you're trying to download. If it has options enabled to view the pdf in the browser, it would be helpful to you. But not all websites do that. Many websites enable the pdf to be downloaded on to your computer.

Chrome downloads the file & add duplicates, it's just the way it is. You can open the pdf first time from your computer with adobe reader or any other pdf reader you have & won't need to download the same twice.
