If you can't do a system restore, you may need an install disk.

You will need to run system file checker to resolve this problem
Go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt. If you are using windows xp, you need to log in as an administrator. If you are using windows vista/7, then you will need to right click on Command Prompt, and click Run as Administrator. Once the command prompt box opens, type this sfc /scannow Then press Enter on the keyboard If you are using windows xp you will need to have your windows cd, if you are using windows vista/7, you may not be needing it. Wait until it finishes scanning. If your files has been infected by a patching virus, there's no way to disinfect it, you can only replace it. |

1. You can run system file checker (SFC) in command prompt as administrator. The exact command is "sfc /scannow".
2. Scan your computer for a possible rootkit infection using the Trend Micro Rootkitbuster. |
