Difference between updating content on site and Blog?
Supposing I create a directory through FTP filezilla called 'Blog' and add pages ending with '.html' to that directory, is it better than blogging on Blogspot? or Wordpress?
Example - 'www.bangaloretaxis.com/Blog/index.html contains a list of articles and when a user clicks on one of the articles they go to http://www.bangaloretaxis.com/Blog/exampleartic…
Is it qualified to be called a 'Blog'?
If yes can I create an RSS feed though they are HTML pages?
Is it SEO friendly?
I've been taught that updation of quality content on the website helps in SERP ranking. I don't see much point in working for hours in creating a good article relating to the industry of my client and posting it on Blogger or Wordpress because my client's industry has very limited audience - i.e., cab hiring in the city of Bangalore, India - who may or may not be looking to read articles based on this industry. Even if the article were to be interesting enough to gain alot of traffic, bangaloretaxis.com wouldn't get credit for all that traffic right? So wouldn't it better to simply post good content on the website and create an RSS Feed that tells other websites about the updated list of articles? Thereby getting all the traffic credit to my website?

Am I missing something?

Blogs in general are a way to keep content fresh on a website, but more importantly, it gives readers trust that you are an expert in your field.

The blog really should be on your site, if you want it on blogger or wordpress, make sure each article points back to the original on your own domain (yoast plugin for wordpress can auto add "original posted on link" to each blog entry on your RSS feed)

If you feel that market isn't benefitting from a blog, then maybe social media would be more of the focus to help you get traffic.

Also - you may want to look into vanity urls if you are creating blog entries to remove the .html or any other extension.

You might have heard about those static sites and dynamic sites. ... Blogs provide commenting system; Updated almost daily; Articles ... Differences between the two content sharing techniques could be better explained there.
