My twitter going CRAZY?

Today I couldn't log in to my twitter account so I had to reset my password when I did that I logged in and everything was okay but then I checked my emails and there notifications from twitter and there were people asking me what I mean..someone was writing to my followers through my account!! how could someone get to your account and write to your followers?? Did I get hacked or something?? Sorry I didn't explain it well I'm very bad at explaining things.Please someone explain what happened?? It was very weird
