what is ancillary services?

I need to do a discussion question that is asking if i ever worked in ancillary services. But I have never heard of this term before. So could anyone help please. thank you. Also this is for a medical class but they are asking a few questions here:
-How would you define ancillary services in your own words? What are at least three examples of ancillary services in health care? How do the ancillary services that you identified support the health care industry and contribute to patient care?
-Have you worked in a field that provides ancillary services? Is so, please feel free to share your experiences with the class. For example, what were your job duties or the services provided by your employer? How did the services contribute to the overall health of the patient? In what way did the primary health care provider use your services?
-Do you find jobs that provide ancillary services interesting?
Would you consider a career with an organization that provides ancillary services? If so, why and what specific job is of interest to you?
If you would not consider a career with an organization that provides ancillary services, please feel free to tell the class why not?
