Google hates my website www.safetyslogans.org. Can anyone tell me why? What can be done?
I used to rank well for years and now they basically have dropped my site into oblivion. Can anyone tell me what they think the problem might be. How can I improve the site? Are the existing sites that rank better than this one?

Google keeps updating it's search algorithms. If you used black hat SEO for your website, it could be one reason.

Your website has good content, but a poor layout. Work on it's design a little more.
Avoid using animations, it lowers the loading speed of the website.
Now because Google is not ranking your website, try shifting to Word-Press. Make a new blog and copy the contents of your website in it.
Insert the left hand side options on the top.

You'll need to optimize your website for search engines.
Your website is TOTALLY SAFE. It's not in the sand box. So, you can get going.

i think its time for you to look at non conventional ways rather than trying to artificially make google like your pages. Go for links from other sites, videos from youtube and other value additions so that persons who visit your website find something useful

Their content quality checking algorithms used by the Panda filter might object to your site's content perhaps for being all duplicate content existing on other sites. Some article directories like ezinearticles took a big hit from the Panda filter.

Adding some original content, perhaps compete articles discussing the ideal of safety, safety education and sign design, might help ranking.

Checking backlinks with opensiteexplorer.org, there were zero links reported from other sites, backlinks are an important ranking factor.
