why does my new desktop keeps disconnecting from the internet every couple of hours, even though the Ethernet is plugged
The internet for my house isn't going out because my laptop will still work fine, when my desktop doesn't. When it does disconnect and the Ethernet cord is plugged in, the troubleshoot says that there is no cord found. How it it possible that one minute it works then the next it doesn't even though nothing has changed with the internet for my house and physically for the computer? The only thing that seems to work is shutting it down completely, then turning it back on again. It doesn't completely solve the problem, it just resets whatever timer its on until it happens again.

Are there other computer wired to the router and is it experiencing the same problem?
If not, then it is isolated to the computer. Try changing cable, change port on the router.
If it is still the same, then reinstall the driver of the ethernet card. If this does not resolve
the problem, then I suggest you replace your adapter.

>It might be 2 reasons
1. cable issue:
>check with another Ethernet cable and see if it works fine
2. LAN adapter:
>disable/enable lan connection and check,
>if still same then try connecting ur laptop and check, if connection is stable then
>u need to update the lan drivers for desktop and check

Hope it helps
