How to start communicating with this guy again?

Here's the story. There's this guy who I've known since seventh grade. He's like me ever since. We never got to be in a relationship and I really don't know why. Anyway, he would give me hints that he liked me, we would text all night every night, etc. Only thing is he could never speak to me in person, he would just stare and he would talk to his friends about me where I could hear him lol. One day I had my friend go ask him about some homework and as soon as she said my name he started smiling :-) lol well, through high school, we stopped talking for two years because I had a boyfriend and I stopped talking to him but he started talking to me again, the last two years we were kind of off because he was with this girl trying to make me jealous. Anyway, our senior year we had three classes together imagine that! I loved it lol. We had a mutual friend in our last class and he would call me Ms *the guy I like last name* and he would just smile and say positive things. A few months before we graduated, he told me how he felt about me and I felt really bad cause we never got together. We go to different colleges now and I haven't seen him since then but I have on fb except I can't talk to him. I still have his number but I doubt he still has mine and I want to know how I could possibly 'accidentally' start talking to him again? Thank you.
