Why can't I download anything?

Since my McAfee subscription expired, my computer has been getting worse and worse, up 'till the point where i can't download anything on Google Chrome. I have Windows 7, and other things like Unity Player doesn't work, and some games that wont open, like Minecraft. I am thinking it's my protection software, but can anyone help me???!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I have Acer

try restart ur computer to safe mode with networking. then download malwarebytes antimalware from https://www.malwarebytes.org/ and scan it.

at first uninstall ur McAfee, then uninstall google chrome, then install Microsoft Security Essentials and install it, then update it and scan ur computer. After that install ur google chrome, I think it will work otherwise u have to Reinstall ur OS.
