Requirements for creating social website?
Hello,

I have a concept and which I wish to turn into real. For this, I need to create a social website. I want to know the following:

1) Procedure for creating social networking website- First I need to register domain name, then web hosting and then followed by web designers and developers. Is this a correct order?
2) I have design rough idea for my website (how my website will look), still do I need to hire web designers
3) For my website, web developers required as I am not technical guy, where can I get professional web developers?
4) How much roughly it cost, please give some idea how much professional web developers charge?
5) Who are developers of big brands like Facebook, Myspace, Bebo etc etc. Do they hire freelancers or hire some professional companies....

Please try to answer as many as questions.

If you have a solid idea of what you want any web developer can walk you through the necessary steps, including domain registration, domain hosting, web development, SSL security, and promotion, however the correct order is to buy the domain name and purchase the hosting. However, if you are not that technically savvy I would wait until you speak to a developer before you choose a hosting solution.

You can get professional web developers all of the world, just search Google or you can even use my company, Tonangi Design & Media (http://www.tonangi.com). It's hard to provide a quote because there isn't much information about your project. For example, depending on your ideas you might need to create a complex database structure or you might need complex permissions to restrict content for some users, but it would be a fair thing to say that this probably wouldn't be an inexpensive undertaking.

All social networks have thousands of full-time developers, and just recently Facebook purchased a company just so the employees could come and work for them. I'm sure there are a few freelancers/contractors that also work at some of these social networking companies but that would be negligible.
