Is there a Way of telling if Someone has Blocked you on Facebook - or just Deactivated their Account?

Is there a Way of telling if Someone has Blocked you on Facebook - or just Deactivated their Account?
There's someone I used to speak to, an Old Friend, who I speak to once in a Blue Moon on Facebook, let's just say we're a bit On/Off really, he very rarely comes on FB.

Earlier I was looking him up, just to look on his Wall, and his name didn't appear in the Search Engine, or in the Friends-list of Mutual friends, and he didn't appear there either. I then searched directly through his username/the address bar and I just got a page with a Thumbs-up saying "Sorry, this page isn't available. The Link you followed may be Broken".

So, just out of curiosity, I logged into my old Fb which has 2 friends and hardly anyone including him knows about, and searched Username again through the Address bar and got the same Message.

One last thing I did try, was searching his Facebook name on Google, seeing as he has an unusual first and weird nick-name middle name which he uses, and Google just came up with his base name and the same link as above, and didn't recognise his old Facebook name. His profile was never private to Non-Friends.

I'm most likely thinking he's just Deactivated his account, but is it possible I was Blocked?
To be Honest, I'm not that Bothered, Just Curious Really.

If he has deactivated it then you won't find him on any account. You might want to ask a friend to search him or make another account just to double check. If he shows up there he's blocked you its the only way to know, to the best of my knowledge.

you left out the 3rd possibility - facebook may have suspended the account because of a rule violation, like creating more than one account

facebook can detect when people do that and they will immediately suspend the account
