Computer Programming?
Hello people of Yahoo Answers!

Shane here;

Quiet recently I found myself becoming increasingly interested in computer programming; I like to know how things work. Last year I decided that I would look into how web programmes are designed, developed and coded. I found a website called: "CodeCademy" and there promise to give a basic insight to the world of programming. On that website I have done stuff such as: HTML, CSS, jQuery, Javascript and currently going through the Python track.

The website is good; don't get me wrong on that. But it isn't advanced enough as in higher-level languages such as C, C++, Java etcetera. So, I decided to take the plunge and purchase Visual Studio 2013 so that I can try and find ways to teach myself. Unfortunately, it's one of those things where you need guidance into doing new projects. I have two Images showing you all I can do (trust me, it's not much. I have only done one project): "http://tinyurl.com/pz9htce" the link to the facebook page.

So far I'm only at the stages of completing basic tasks like temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit or finding the radius, perimeter and circumference of circles. I really want to go further, but I just do not know where to start. If any of you guys have any information you could share, just to get me that bit further I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks everyone,

~Shane
Thanks for the prompt response right there!

I just went on to the website in which you specified and had a look around. Are there many differences between Visual Studio and Code::Blocks that you know of; like are the different libraries etcetera? Once again, thanks!

Use the tutorials on http://www.thenewboston.com
Believe me, they're suitably advanced. I struggled through those when I was first learning programming. You have no idea how much they helped though.

I've learned PHP, Java, Javascript and some C++ from there so far.

Try to practice more codes/ programs. Follow the site and try to analyse the complete codes and modify to advanced level if possible. Start with C programming. Learn from programs.
