Why does my fb chat say 'seen by ****'s friends' and how to i stop it?

Above my chats at the bottom of the screen it says 'seen by (my friend on fb)'s friends. What does this mean and how do i stop it?

It means what time did reciever read you message. Some people doesn't reply to fb messages because their lazy and when sender ask them did they see the message they simply say "No I didn't." So if they say that you can check it and that stops people cheating on you.
It happened to me a lot, thanks for fb she replies me now.
