Help with chromecast and pc without wifi?
I just bought a chromecast. But an aging vista pc with no wifi is useless, or is it. How can I get my broadband and music and videos from the pc to the chrome cast?

A Chromecast let's you stream content from a computer/mobile device to the HD TV it is plugged into using your wifi connection. You cannot copy content to it like a USB drive.

It will work the same way on a wired connection, as on a Wireless one.
Probably even be faster/better connection than wireless.

But it's very limited for playing video from your PC to Chromecast.

I recently purchased a Chromecast. Since it's so new, the guys who make useful software are just now figuring out how to do something cool with the device. Until then, you can stream You Tube videos, Netflix movies, and stuff like that. And, if you use Google's Chrome browser you can send whatever's on your browser to the TV. You may have to wait a while before there's an app the streams your personal collection of movies or pics to the TV.

To make this thing work:
1. You need a Wi-Fi router (and Internet service, of course)
2. You need an HD TV with a spare HD port. And possibly a spare electrical plug nearby.
3. The "initiating" device does not need Wi-Fi capability -- but it doesn't hurt.
4. You won't believe this darn thing is only $35 after using it!
